The Raleigh Radiance a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and an elite semi-professional ultimate frisbee team for women and transgender, intersex, non-binary, genderqueer, and genderfluid people. We are a member of the Premier Ultimate League (PUL). We use our platform to enhance our community and strive for gender, racial, and socioeconomic equity. The Radiance was founded in 2018 and recruits across North Carolina and beyond.
2022: Radiance gains 501(c)(3) non-profit status and chooses a roster of 29 players to compete in the biggest season of the PUL yet. We finished tied for 3rd after qualifying for Championship weekend in Columbus Ohio.
2021: First return to play since COVID-19. Radiance competed in (and won!) the PUL East Division Championship weekend.
2020: Established team in February 2020 but season abruptly due to Covid-19. The team shifts gears to focus on virtual equity education sessions.
2019: The Radiance join the Premier Ultimate League for its inaugural season. The team places second in the PUL Championships.
2018: The Radiance are founded by leadership from Phoenix, the NC women’s club ultimate team, and the AUDL Flyers, the NC Men’s professional ultimate team. Radiance compete in their first professional games.
