The Raleigh Radiance a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and an elite semi-professional ultimate frisbee team for women and transgender, intersex, non-binary, genderqueer, and genderfluid people. We are a member of the Premier Ultimate League (PUL). We use our platform to enhance our community and strive for gender, racial, and socioeconomic equity. The Radiance was founded in 2018 and recruits across North Carolina and beyond.
2025: More to come!
2024: Radiance finishes 3-3 and falls just short of Championship Weekend which sparks a fiery desire for a comeback next season!
2023: Radiance competes in and WINS not only the South Division of the PUL but the PUL Championships held in Washington, DC.
2022: Radiance gains 501(c)(3) non-profit status and chooses a roster of 29 players to compete in the biggest season of the PUL yet. We finished tied for 3rd after qualifying for Championship weekend in Columbus Ohio.
2021: First return to play since COVID-19. Radiance competed in (and won!) the PUL East Division Championship weekend.
2020: Established team in February 2020 but season abruptly due to Covid-19. The team shifts gears to focus on virtual equity education sessions.
2019: Radiance joins the Premier Ultimate League for its inaugural season. The team places second in the PUL Championships.
2018: Radiance is founded by leadership from Phoenix, the NC women’s club ultimate team, and the UFA Flyers, the NC Men’s professional ultimate team. Radiance compete in their first professional games.
